Lead Guitar.ABOUT
David DiPilato (a.k.a.....Dubble D) formed The Khaos Junkies after spending over 3 decades jamming just for fun in basements, attics, & garages of local musicians, who loved playing songs written by some of the world’s greatest rock bands. During those years Dubble D fell in love with playing rhythm guitar and wrote the lyrics and music to over 150 songs of his own, however, the time to record, produce and release his material never seemed to be available.
The Khaos Junkies really began to take shape in 2009. The Khaos Junkie's original music, written by Dubble D, spills across several genres, however, the main focus is rock with true meaning. The Khaos Junkies quickly developed their own style of rock during both their practice & studio sessions for What's On The The Way, their first CD, which hopefully avid rock fans all across the globe will find appealing and enjoy.
The band has endured several changes over the years. Original member and drummer, Steve Shaughnessy, left the band in 2012 along with his brother-in-law and bassist Rick Swenson, to pursue other interests. In January 2013, the band's then lead guitarist and good friend, Dave Cuneo, passed away suddenly. Dubble D vowed to rebuild and continue with the band in Dave's honor. Shortly after Dave's passing long time friend and drummer Steve Angelone joined the band. Later that year bassist Conrad Mlynarski and lead guitarist Chris Stackhouse joined the band. The band became well known in the Central Massachusetts area for their high energy, classic rock covers as well as modified versions of Dubble D's original tunes.
Recently the band has undergone even more changes as "life outside of music happens". Lead guitarist Chris Stackhouse has decided to bow out for personal reasons, which the band totally supports. Bassist Conrad Mylnarski also left the band to pursue other musical interests with a regional tribute band.
Dubble D attributes his major influences in rock music mainly to Mick & Keith of The Rolling Stones, who are his favorite rock band of all time. Other influences of the band include great bands and artists such as The Foofighters, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, The Who, The Black Crowes, Collective Soul, The Eagles, Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and too many more to list here.
So yes we are currently seeking a lead guitarist. A top notch, kick ass, lead guitarist to replace Chris. Someone with strong abililty, stage presense and gig experience. A good attitude, an open mind and love of the Stones is a must! Ability to switch off and sing lead vocals on certain songs also would help. Our plan right now for the Khaos Junkies is to back off a bit to say 15 or so gigs per year and to pursue a second CD project later next year. If you are seriously interested in trying out for the band please contact Dubble D at dadipilato. Thank you.
