Jackie Robinson Thigpen has been playing Bass for over forty years. He started playing at age twelve in a group called the "The Soul Intergrations" for two years. For the next ten years he joined a group called "The Special Ocassions" until the band broke up in Ohio late 70's. Jackie came back to Connecticut, and for the next three and a half years he played bass in a Rock/R&B band called "Eargasm". Jackie then moved back to Bpt. and helped form the group "Jones vs. Jones" an original R&B group that had some radio play, opened up for Kool and the Gang several times, Harold Melvin and the Blue notes, Blue Magic, Mary Wilson and the Supremes. The band parted eight years later. After this, Jackie put together three more groups. "Heart-Ache", "Byte This" and the group "Schoolin" which featured some of CT.'s finest musicians. In between all this, Jackie played bass for three years with a country western band called "Laura and the Longhorns". Later Jackie answered the call of a group called the "Bernadettes" which was a blues band. Jackie signed on under the agreement that the band wanted a new direction becoming an R&B,Funk,Classic Rock, and Blues band. Jackie stayed for the next seven years and brought the band to new levels in style, dress, and showmanship. Besides radio Jackie has done several public TV appearences and did lots of intensive traveling in the early years. TV interviews, and performances, Jackie is a seasoned road warrior. Still "bassin" and laying down the groove. Due to artistic differences, Jackie left the band in 2007 and has been working on putting together his own group called "DAH TRUTH" a five piece band.
