Now Seeking

Bass Guitar, Keyboard.

About

I'm a Jewboy from Hawaii/New York and have been in this wonderful city over 5 years now, and I now need some fellow surf music enthusiasts. Real surf, instrumental and dark, dreamy and foreboding. (Sometimes happy!) I have a catalog of original surf songs that Dick Dale wishes he wrote. Influenced by my Russian Jew heritage and black metal.
Needed: Pounding Bassist (who enjoys the occasional guitar stint), and a Screeching Keyboardist. Musical proficiency unnecessary. Must love Ramones and be sick of jazz.
I have a practice space with drums/bass/guitar therefore one need not transport their own gear.
Had a surf band in Boston in 2003-2004 but then I moved here and pursued a film sound career, which was successful at the cost of the band... Now this band must reform!
Call Dan at 504-220-8948 or "dan_izen" at yahoo. I'm not a paying member so I can't contact you. Don't call if you're threatened by candor.

Influences

Doo Wop, Dipset, Queers, Ramones, Rancid Hell Spawn, Smersh, Daisuke Tobari, Trashwomen, Mummies, Phantom Surfers, Guitar Wolf, Teengenerate, Screeching Weasel, Cinerama, Wedding Present, Smiths (including everything Morrissey has ever done), We Were Promised Jetpacks, The Cure, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Venetian Snares and other breakcore, Xasthur, Striborg, Spektr, Horna, The Shining, 70s Turkish, Indian, and Thai funk, and of course everything truly experimental, including otherworldly soundscapes, harsh noise, field recordings, etc.

Equipment List

2 strats, a sweet japper longhorn guitar, a p-bass, 1971 Fender Twin (The Battleship), Eden bass amp w/ a 15" cab, a cheapo drum set (sounds good though, Slingerland snare and Cobra dbl kick pedal)
Plus - tons of recording equipment including a sweet Tascam 38 (8-track 1/2" open reel tape)

Members Of Band

Myself, and Dave the drummer, who is a fantastic stand-up guy.
