About
UPDATE!!!!!
I have put up a couple of RAW SCRATCH tracks of covers. They are rough, but there is at least something on here to gauge your interest or analysis. No click, straight from the drum module into Audacity, and a few bo-bos in it, no big. Just the unvarnished me, solid, and LOVE PLAYING! I am a drummer that LOVES to play and less concerned about solos or fills as I am backing up the band and making it tight! Bo-bos and fixing them on spot is a capability, few play perfectly!
Hoping to find like minded. I would like to have keys and some estrogen in the band. I like Queensryche and Deep Purple, and also Katy Perry. Go Figure. I can sing and play, but would like to concentrate on the playing right now. Singing will come later.
I am a drummer/vocalist that would like to get back into gigging. I would like to put together or join something that is exceptional and REALLY FUNNN!!!. This drummer wants to start a new type of band. Have played in the past, and looking to start a successful and FUN band This one will play some harder Pop, Rock, Classic Rock, and some country as well. I am looking for people that are in 20's to 40s, that are not chemically enhanced. Please no drugs and alcoholics, or premadonna egomaniacs. I would like people to be in reasonable shape as well, as this is a visual business too.
I also have a successful career as I am sure most of you do, and I just want to add that to this to that success. I want to have this band be something special, that actually will be a "modular" type of band, with a basic package of drums, bass, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, Keys, some strings, pedal steel maybe. I would like to have people that are able to play other instruments such as sax, violin, pedal steel etc. Ladies if you play axe or sax step up! I would like to "Front" the band with more than a couple of singers, and when the "lead" is not singing, they are in the backup vocals or on other instruments. The idea is to have a sold band and "feature" some of the areas best.
YOU WILL want me in your band! I am a solid drummer, but I will infuse the band with a very POSITIVE and upbeat energy. I "drive" the music, and keep the time. THAT is what a drummer does, the rest of the licks and all are great, but I like bringing out the best in my fellow bandmates. That is what "being in a band" is for me.
Long term the goal is to launch a couple of individual artists to success, and also have a successful download site, with the goal of having the most downloaded song for a year. In addition to that to play some pretty large gigs.
Type of Music? Heart, Boston, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Martina McBride, Brooks and Dunn, Three Doors down, Lifehouse, PINK, Joe Satrani and Eric Johnson and some older covers we can "make our own". Have a few originals, as you probably do as well. I just do not want to get stuck in the same old "covers" rut playing Van Halen and AC/DC, et al. They are great songs, however, everybody and their brother plays those songs and add in "Mustang Sally". I want this band to be 3-4 hours of "you don't want to miss anything" and "I have never seen anything like it"!. (I have a secret dream to play "lead cowbell" for a cover of BOC "Don't fear the Reaper".) MORE COWBELL!!!!
I have a pretty extensive song list of probables, and I am sure you will be adding as well. Would like to start ASAP, and be playing in 4-6 months. Goal is to have a 1.5 hour super set, and 4 good sets for local venues. Would like to have 40-70 songs in rotation. The "Fill-in" goal is to have that 1.5 hour super set for last minute cancellations of the summer's "stampedes" and outdoor festivals. That is the goal anyway.
Influences
Just about any classic rock that my former bands and musicians I used to play with. Tommy Aldridge, Carl Palmer, some progressive rock drummers, and some of the regular "2 and 4" throw down the beat and keep it solid, types.
Adele, Vonda Shepard, Eric Johnson, Heart, Journey, 3 doors, Lifehouse, VH, RUSH, Queensryche, Katy Perry, Deep Purple, Head East, YES...... way way too many and too numerous for so many reasons.
Equipment List
2 Pearl Maple shell mega sets, 1 Pearl Wood Fiberglass, 1 Roland TD-6. 2 PA speakers 2 way 15's.
