ABOUT

Really starting many years ago (I'm in my 40s now) with a blues band I was in during college; bass guitar has been a constant part of my life. Whether I'm performing in a band, practicing at home or listening intently to the masters, it's always been there. I dabble some with guitar too, and try my hand at songwriting here and there, but bass has always been my strength.

I'm looking for a creative performing outlet. I'm the guy in the band who always has the songs practiced, is always early to the gig...

Influences

... but I'm also the guy in the band who suggests and listens to the weird music.

I grew up on alternative rock in the 80s, expanding and listening to many other genres along the way.

80s: U2, Level 42 (a must as a bass player), Adam Ant, English Beat, Peter Gabriel, Oingo Boingo
Prog: King Crimson, Yes, Rush
Classic Rock: Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Joe Walsh
90s Rock: Primus, Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cake
Electronic: Art of Noise, Brian Eno, William Orbit, Autechre
2000s: Gomez, Kasabian, Citizen King, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Neil Finn, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age
Recent: Franz Ferdinand, AWOLNation, Kongos, Liam Finn

There's much more, but that at least captures a bit
