Never really played with anybody, starting to really want to play with somebody, almost totally self-taught, no theory(until this past year or so)-just learning then personalising favorite songs/sections/riffs, strong musical preferences/tastes...so...for the most part I think 4/4 is a dead horse beaten by way too many people. I am eager to help write intricate compositions that explore irregular meter and the almighty tritone alike. My primary concern with being in a group(despite not having ever been in one) would be the drummer. I can't imagine wanting to play with anyone who wouldn't echo the likes of at least a couple of names like Elvin Jones, Art Blakey, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Billy Cobham, Bill Bruford, Jon Theodore or maybe even Cornbread Compton. I like textures, especially advanced harmonic stuff like Bennie Maupin's playing on Bitches Brew. Good syncopation is the key to life.
