ABOUT

Originally called the Plastic Yooper Band, the Day Trippers cover music by the four Beatles and their post-Beatle works, plus a bit of other similar material. We presently consist of three guys who have long loved and performed Beatles (and other) music, one young woman with a fantastic voice who is learning the material for the first time, and a young but very accomplished drummer with a wide variety of stylistic abilities. The band was established in late 2012 as "host band" for the first annual John Lennon Night fundraiser event in Marquette, and this iteration of the band will host that event again in 2014 (now called "Beatles Invasion"). The present members want to gig a couple of times a month beginning this winter, then possibly range out to regional festivals after a year or so of local gigs. Although we won't be able to gig every weekend, we anticipate being able to choose some good gigs, as is typical for good Beatles cover bands.
