I play and respect many styles of music. Have played in bluegrass, country, country-rock, and rock bands over the past several decades.
Also like contemporary Christian music. Hoping to play in the P&W band someday soon.
I've played a lot of instruments in my day, including mandolin, violin, and keyboard, but it's guitar that I've stuck with since the age of 8 and that I am equipped to play.
I have writing capabilities, both in music and lyrics.
I don't drink when working, and I never smoke or do drugs, except for coffee. My buzz comes mostly from coffee and the thrill of the gig. Will not work with smokers or any kind of recreational drug abuser.
My musical desires fall into two categories:
1) Playing lead/rhythm and providing background/lead vocals with a solo performer who is sometimes a duo or who wants to be a duo.
2)Playing lead/rhythm guitar and backing/lead vocal with a full band.
In both cases, the object is to put together a pleasing and entertaining act with the ability to perform in as many types of venues as possible. Who knows, we might even come up with some kind of meaningful addition to the world of music.
Am available for multiple-day practices at first, but have too much going on to keep that up unless the pay for the weekends is enough to allow me to give up one or two part-time jobs. Able to work on my own to get songs down before coming to practice to make the most of time together.
I work evenings Sunday through Thursday, though can move times back and forth when necessary. Have a 7-year-old son who stays with his mom most evenings, and won't be a problem on gig nights, but being a good dad to him trumps all else.

Guitar influences include Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, George Harrison, Beatles, Yes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Vince Gill.
My singing is mostly of the Clapton style, but can do some lower register Eagles, Neil Young, and the like.
Want to add some cool jazz stylings to my repertoire, too, and of course whatever you need me to do to fit into your band.
Epiphone Les Paul Custom--It's a Les Paul without the decorations (although mine has a sparkly red top when you look at it close-up). I've found that it holds tune superbly.
I also have a 25-year-old Yamaha acoustic with way high action and heavy-gauge strings, but its intonation is excellent and I use it to exercise on.
Fender Frontman 212R--This baby is loud, clean or dirty, and I haven't yet had to turn it up above 2.
ME-70 sound processor--This machine is sweet, giving me everything from just my amp to all kinds of modulations, choruses, flanges, compressions, delays, and amps, including the impressively easy-to-use up-to-38-second repeat loop with endless overdubs. Still learning the possibilities with the pedal, but have it down well enough now to provide at the least four sound augmentations and a volume/wah pedal. (Read that as "I won't be bent over tweaking nobs all night long." I prefer to set things and forget them, at least till I've learned how to accomplish what I want quickly.)
