Here's the scoop:
I played in numerous bands before having children. Now my children are grown and I have more time to invest. Hoping to find or form a band in Franklin or Nashville. Would expect to practice once or twice a week and play out a couple times each month maybe.
I'm not a flashy player, but can provide a steady groove. I am not a jazz player. You won't catch me twirling my sticks or begging for a solo. I want to lay down the backdrop for the music, not steal the show. I just don't have those kinds of chops or desires.
I would love to be in a band that people can dance to, but also play some classics.
Some ideas for what I would consider a fun set to perform:
And She Was - Talking Heads
Lido Shuffle - Boz Scaggs
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
Hard To Handle - Black Crowes
Save Me San Francisco - Train
Modern Love - David Bowie
Magic Man - Heart
Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
Plus maybe some Tom Petty, Steve Miller and Bad Company. New tunes and originals would be fun too, but these at least give an idea of the styles I like.
