I'm a recent graduate of Purdue University, and a drummer/percussionist + occasional guitarist. I am apparently going to be doing graduate school here, so I should be around for a few more years. Most recently I've played with the Purdue Musical Organization: Heart & Soul and a few other gigging groups in West Lafayette, but I'm always looking for new musicians to jam with. In particular looking for musicians that enjoy improv in various genres, the ability to improv within odd time signatures is a giant plus. Vocals are always cool, love to sing harmonies and I live for great lyrics. Not a fan of full out cover bands, but covering a handful of songs is always a great time. Played with a lot of great musicians but still haven't found the right mix of talents yet. My older brother is an incredible lead guitarist and was in a handful of the groups I played with in my younger years, but is living in Indy currently. Aside from drum kit experience, I have had a lot of hand drumming experience(tablas, congas, djembe). Also have been playing stringed instruments for a number of years, like guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, etc... Can play an acceptable amount of lead guitar but usually fall back to acoustic funk. Occasionally play solo with a guitar and loop pedal, mostly covering well known hip-hop songs because its entertaining as hell to try to recreate them. Also toy around with piano/keys somewhat, and other random instruments from harmonicas to penny whistles, bamboo flutes, and the didgeridoo. I have statewide touring experience and studio recording/session drumming experience. Also have production experience ranging from recording full bands to solo musicians to hip-hop artists. Influences:

Pretty hard to keep this short, but I would have to say...Radiohead, The Beatles, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Folds, Citizen Cope, Tool, Flecktones, MM&W, The Doors, Iron & Wine, Soulive, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Thom Yorke, Oysterhead, Steely Dan, The Police, String Cheese Incident, Thievery Corporation, Bob Marley, Damien Marley, Stephen Marley, Ben Harper, Jamiroquai, Incubus, The Roots, A Perfect Circle, Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, SRV, Buckethead, Herbie Hancock, Blues Traveler, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Soundgarden, Counting Crows, Stevie Wonder, Les Claypool, Coldplay, Paul Simon, John Mayer, Sigur Ros, Zero 7, Bright Eyes, Sean Lennon, Outkast, Scofield, Jack Johnson, ok I'll stop here. Anything funky or improvisational really. No emo/"screamo"/country.

Equipment List:

8 piece Pearl kit, 12 cymbals and various percussion toys(see picture, even though its very outdated). Almost always dumbed down to a 5 piece with 2 to 5 cymbals for live shows. The primary reason my full kit is so big is because I am somewhat ambidextrous on the drums, so I have certain pieces spread to both sides so I can switch to playing left(open) handed or right handed as needed. Secondary reason is because that kit is a monster. Also have tablas, a Remo djembe, a Takamine acoustic/electric, a banjo, an electric ukulele(seriously.), and a bunch of other random instruments.
