Boomer was born 2 years ago with the bass player and drummer from the former Detroit blues/rock band The Willies. The Willies were together for over 10 years, gigged regularly and released 2 CD's of all original material. Unfortunatly our lead guitar Willie Ray passed away. Knowing that The Willies could never be The Willies without Willie Ray, we settled into a regular Friday night jam, with a core group of musician friends featuring the Willies rhythm section, rhythm guitar/sax, keyboard and a female vocalist. Our friday night jams have evolved into weekly rehearsals as Boomer. Everyone in the band sings. We've had several rotating lead guitarists, but none that had the same level of commitment or expectations. For us Boomer is something we love to do... we're committed to weekly practices but our busy lives don't allow for much gigging...once every couple of months is plenty. So if you're like minded...40 plus and looking to have fun with a committed band but not looking for a career or a regular gig...give us a call.
