I started guitar at 13 years old but didn't get serious until six years later, so I've been at it now for a quarter of a Century. My first concert was Van Halen's first tour promoting their first album in the old Barton Colisium, Little Rock, AR. How about that, for a FIRST show? I was influenced by Eddie Van Halen the most. I was just starting to learn to play guitar when Van Halen hit the music scene I and could learn most songs by ear except for Van Halen's music, he threw me a fretboard curve ball. I remember hearing Eruption for the first time & thinking, how the "explicit" is he playing that. That drove me to really learn & apply myself. I've been influenced by several Guitarists, so by learning their techniques I learn different approaches and styles so I never get in that "rut", I always try to keep moving forward...

My gear is unique compared to most Guitarists. Starting with my floor pedals, I use a Roland VG-88 "Virtual Guitar System" & Roland GR-55 & GR-1 "Guitar Synthesizers". The VG-88 models Guitars & Amps + alternate tunings, allowing much more diversity than a conventional setup. The GR-55 & GR-1 are Synthesizers that model Pianos, Organs, Strings, Pads + hundreds of other sounds & options just like a Keyboardist. What drives this Sound Machine you ask? The Ibanez RG-420GK Guitar. Yes, all these sounds are created from an electric Guitar. I connect directly to the PA System, no backline amplification for me, been there-done that. I've used the VG-88 for about 10 years & have about 20 years experience using Guitar Synths and still continue to learn how to deploy this Arsenal of Sound. For Vocals, it's "Grip it & Rip it" + a TC Helicon Harmony G which tracks my Guitar Chords and applies Harmony & other effects to my vocals when needed. That's pretty much it, it's simple but Lethal... For recording I us a Roland CDX-1 DiskLab and ik multimedia's T-Racks 24 for audio mastering.

I have 20 plus years of experience playing guitar, vocals & recording. I've had the privilage of playing in several local bands, playing a variety of music. I'm currently in V2, a two piece Rock Band, myself & a drummer. If you don't think that's possible check out The Black Keys or The White Stripes... My largest show was for a corporate event, approximately 2 - 3 thousand people and the smallest show, you could count the people on one hand, we've all had those...
