Doc MacNab is a touring and session drummer available to all styles, groups, players and producers the world over. With a passport in hand, Doc will meet your every need and with a pleasant personality to go with it.

“Tasteful with excellent technique.” Alan White, Yes
“A drummer’s drummer.” Pat McGee, Pat McGee Band
“Tasteful and appropriate for most situations.” Chris Vrenna, Nine Inch Nails, Independent
“An excellent choice for any musical group.” Ronny Moorings, Clan of Xymox
“Like a craftsman, he will make you what you need.” Mike Connell, The Connells

Playing music within a group of people is all about the context: the musical environment, the other players, the music itself. Considering all that, Doc MacNab looks at what's required to make the music work. When the music or a player changes environment, Doc makes adjustments; then styles or approaches to the music can be different. Doc adjusts to play different styles of music while maintaining his identity. He accomplishes that by thinking of music first.

Doc has learned as a musician how to be like a chameleon. For example, Doc has played Alt-country with Stevi Marie and Jackson Road, Funk/Progressive with Haak-MacNab and Goth/Metal with The Raygun Girls. He has also played Latin Pop/R&B with the United Cities of America (UCA), indie with Bijhan and Trigger Finger and Reggae with Lynval Golding. Doc's goal is not to sound like other people on record or live (like other drummers or even his mentors), but instead his goal is to keep a consistent thread of musicality. He comes to the gig as prepared as can be: he practices, works hard on technique and has a lot of experience to draw from. When Doc arrives at a gig, he is immersing himself in that musicality, that music.
