A little bit of my music background with the bass. Started playing bass around ’77 in the dorm with all the guys with playing flat tops. There were lots of skill levels and genres but no drums. So I played more keeping the beat and a little less bass line.
Played country for a few years in the early 80’s. I played in a 4 piece band where the guitarist would take off a verse or two and let me carry the melody and bass line. Who says I don’t have friends.
Did some studio work and released a Cd some really great guys with.
Played a lot of community theater shows. That was fun. Never had a score to work from so I played off the piano player’s left hand untill I learned the songs. Must have done something right they kept bringing me back for the next show.
Music slowed down for me or my career a road warrior picked up, traveling all over the world, left time for no time at home but I knew I’d be back playing one day.
Now my job has very little travel and I can play once again. So the day is here.
Not one favorite bass player but I like players who have a solid line that drives the song but doesn’t over power. Just a solid line you can dance to or sing too.
