I am a guitarist/ guitar synthesist, so I can do keyboard-type sounds in addition to guitar.
I am really looking for a progressive sound - not hard rock or metal. Been there, done that.
I don't care about making money now - I am all about the music, and its intrinsic beauty.
What I'd like:
Musicians, or a band... I am seeking an artful blend in the styles of Genesis (With Peter Gabriel), Marillion (With Fish on vocals), with perhaps a dash of the passion of Queensryche - Progressive art rock meets melodic, operatic power rock meets modern melodic fusion. Jazz influenced progressive is cool, too - Like UK/Alan Holdsworth, Steve Hillage, and so on.
I write, I sing, I arrange, and I play. I'd prefer not to be the lead vocalist, guitar is where I am strongest.
I am very good at finding vocal harmonies, and I can hold my part in a vocal harmony, no problem.
I have years of experience, and I've got a pretty good feel for what works, and what doesn't. I will be looking to jam starting around the end of July/beginning of August, or so.
I have YEARS of pro stage / touring and studio experience, in the USA and in Europe, and I even have a little bit of studio and live production experience.
What I'd like to AVOID:
I'd prefer to stay away from anything obscene, grotesque, satanic, freaky.
If you're affiliated with anything even REMOTELY gang-y or criminal, DON'T contact me.
If you have drug, alcohol, or wife/girlfriend problems, don't bother. (If you're interested in what I am interested in, ping me at dd AT euro-innova DOT com) or leave a message at two three nine four oh five one one six one.
I am looking for serious, passionate, talented musicians with a genuine love of interesting music!
Steve Hackett, Marillion, Anthony Phillips, Daryl Stuermer, Fripp, Eno, Extreme, Queensryche, George Lynch, Allan Holdsworth. Many, many more, but you get the idea.
I realize that the examples of my playing don't reflect what I say my influences are, but all of the stuff you'll hear if you listen to my examples are several years old.
(Listen to "In My Dreams" - at about 1 minute 10 seconds, it becomes a rock power ballad.)
All pro gear, tour-ready, european voltage conversions on all A/C powered equiptment. Marshall / Mesa Boogie and Peavey (all tube) amps, electric guitars, FX, guitar synth equipment, etc., etc.
I also have reliable transportation, and a good straight day gig.
