Downgrade is a 3-piece band from Wausau, and we play heavy rock with a bluesy, groove-oriented style. We’re looking for a guitarist with some vocal ability to round out our sound. We'll also consider adding a vocalist who is willing to share vocal duties, if the chemistry is right. Some of our influences include Black Sabbath, Clutch, Soundgarden, Corrosion of Conformity and Black Label Society, among many others.
We tune drop-D, one full step down ( C ). We are pretty laid-back and like to just rock out, but we are serious about honing our sound and sounding semi-professional. We're not drug users and we'd prefer if you weren't either...please don't take it personally - it's just not who we are or what we represent.

the members of downgrade originally came together in summer 2005 just to have some fun jamming. no one expected that a sound and a vibe would form, and that they would move in a new and promising direction...

downgrade is made up of brandon on drums, jeremy on bass, and nathan on guitar and vocals. they kicked around without a name for almost a year, but after solidifying a unique musical identity and cranking hard on a number of original tunes and a few covers they are ready to take their unique brand of heavy, bluesy rock out onto the local scene.

brandon has been playing drums for over 10 years, and is a veteran of the central wisconsin band scene. his past projects include flux, on campus and coprophage, and he is known for being adaptable to many musical styles. his incredibly rock-solid playing is the core of the downgrade sound.

jeremy may only have a couple years in a band under his belt, but what he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in determination and pure talent. jeremy has been playing guitar for over 10 years, but only made the transition to bass when the members of downgrade first came together. he has adapted to the bass with amazing speed, and has developed a style all his own.<<< ~ >>>
nathan has played guitar for over 15 years, and has also been in a few groups from the wausau area, most notably wrenchwork. his organic, expressive playing style adds a heavy, yet bluesy wash over the tight-as-hell rhythm section.

although jeremy and nathan come from a more traditional heavy metal background, and brandon from a more alt-rock scene, they all share a love for music of all genres, and the empty canvas of downgrade seemed the perfect place to combine all of their diverse interests and add a new twist. with no preconceived notions, downgrade has created a sound that defies categorization or classification. it's loud, it freakin' rocks hard, and that's all that matters. check 'em out when they hit a club near you!
