ABOUT

THIS LISTING IS FOR A "HIRED GUN" SITUATION ONLY! I ALREADY HAVE AN ORIGINAL BAND AND AM NOT LOOKING TO JOIN ANOTHER ONE. I AM A QUALIFIED FREELANCE MUSICIAN LOOKING FOR PAYING GIGS. THANKS. Adam Barber has been playing drums for since the age of 16. He spent the first four years learning to play by ear and watching other local drummers around the Winston Salem, North Carolina area. Growing up he was strongly influenced by old school metal bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Megadeth to name a few. After graduating high school 22nd in his class, he went to a local college for studio engineering, live sound reinforcement, and concert lighting where he excelled in his class. This added schooling has giving him a vast knowledge of live sound and studio situations and conditions.
In the summer of 2003 Adam was excepted into the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in Hollywood, California, where in August of that year he began his 18 month studies at Musicians Institute. Upon completion of his Journeyman Certificate and Profession Certificate in 2005, Adam received the award for Most Improved Student as well as a nomination for Student of the Year. Some of his teachers at P.I.T. included: Jeff Bowders (Paul Gilbert), Andy Megna, Gary Hess, Ralph Razze, Tim Pederson, Glen Sobel, Watson (Apex Theory), Fred Dinkins, Chuck Silverman, Ed Roscetti, Gary Garbatini, Charlie Waymire, Chuck Flores, Donny Gruendler, Tim Mcintyre, and Rob Carson.
On top of his extensive knowledge of all styles of music ranging from rock, jazz, country, metal, latin, pop, and everything in between, Adam is proficient in odd meters, and able to sight read, chart out, and learn many songs quickly. FOR BOOKING INFO OR OTHER QUESTIONS: AWBTAMADRUMMER
