Was the drummer for Legend, a power trio, back in the 70s. One album - From the Fjords, 1979. Three cuts off the album above. Also sang background vocals. Played in a couple Top 40 club bands for a few years back then, as well. Some background and lead vocals. Became a Christian in 1979 (and remain seriously committed). Played in Asaph for ten years, a concert group which took older hymns and played them as a synthesized symphony orchestra and drum corps. Big sound. Have played in a couple P&W groups, locally.

I've done a few clinics and would like to team up with other drummers to do "Drum Nights" and encourage the local music scene. If you are a drummer in this area with the same kind of thinking, please get in touch.

I have been making my own drums since 1991. I appreciate the possibilities of large set-ups.

I'd like to do another version of Asaph, even with just a maxed out keyboard player. Would be unique in Christian music, I believe.

Currently recording instrumental, free-form mixture of various genres (jazz fusion, ambient, funk, rock ...) with Bandmix members in my area. We are working on our first CD.

Open to forming or joining a fusion-type group doing originals, covers, mix. Not much interest for that genre here in SW Virginia, but if you're around here ...

Willing to travel for the right gig, too. I'm open. Might be heading out to Texas. Looking at things around DFW.

Influences

Drums - Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker, Carl Palmer, Billy Cobham, and Tony Williams are the major influences, and some others down through the years.

Music - All kinds from Classical, to Christian traditional and some contemporary, to Jazz and especially Fusion, to old Prog, to Celtic, to New Age and World music, to Drum Corps - Acoustic music, electrified, synthesized ...

Some favorites - Music and lyrics - Paul Wilbur, Robin Mark, Steve Bell, Craig Smith, John Michael Talbot, Isaac Watts, Charles Wesley. Genre Types - Jean Luc Ponty, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Passport, Dave Weckle Band, Buddy Rich Big Band, Bruckner, Copeland, Wagner, ELP, Yes, Renaissance, Kansas, Gentle Giant, synth artists, vibes players, Greg Howard, Rob Martino, Kevin Keith, Bob Culbertson, Don Schiff, and Emmett Chapman ( Stick players), Animusic, STOMP ...

I'm influenced by any and all fine, articulate musicians. Bluegrass banjo to classical violin.
