About

My name is Michelle.Dependable.Good stage prescence.I have the chops and experience, do you have the project? Would love to find a good jazz, funk, fusion combination. Horns are a plus. I'm currently working as an independent in Reno (Groove Tattoo, Dr. Evil's JuJu, C.H.KYO, etc.) I've played /recorded everything imaginable over the last three decades. Have worked with Ron Perry ( of Martha's Children) Peter Supersano, Jack Taylor Dixieland Review,"Legends" of Las Vegas, Played metal w/ "Precious Metal" in the late70's and funk/ Fusion w/ "Stratus". I am a third generation drummer, daughter of Joe Zito, Yonkers N.Y. Played for The Jack Benny show. I am one of the few working female drummers in the area. (Not too many of us, are there?) Currently training in vocals (Lead and backup).

Influences

Strong Jazz influence. I listen to Jaco and Miles, Coltrane, Cobham ,Tower of Power, Weather Report,Ozomatli, Buddy Rich, Hendrix, Cold Blood, Stevie Ray to name a few... Drummers? Love Elvin Jones, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Johnny Vidacovich, Stanton Moore, John Bonham, Too many to name here. Yeah, that's eclectic!
