North Carolina has always been a haven for bluegrass music. It’s rich history continues to foster and create many talented players and singers. Several of these talents have come together to form an impressive new group, Dry Run Bluegrass Band. Dry Run has already been the winner of numerous bluegrass conventions, performs at festivals and venues around the Southeast, and performs frequently on television and radio. The group was recently honored to have an original song, “Nights Turn to Tears” , featured on The Blueridge Express show at radio station CKWR 98.5 FM. Traditional, NewGrass, and original music is performed, with influences ranging from Jimmy Martin to Tony Rice. Rich vocals and great instrumentation help to provide an exciting and dynamic Dry Run show.
Dry Run is
Gary Isenhour- guitar and lead vocals
Gary Isenhour hails from Stony Point, NC. Gary’s soulful vocals, coupled with his hard-drivin’ flat-picking style, are a true asset to Dry Run. He has played with various bands throughout the area including Dewey Farmer and Powder Creek, Harold Killian and the Catawba River Boys, and the Sons of the South. He has won numerous accolades for his talents, including awards at Galax, VA. Gary has opened for such greats as the Country Gentlemen, Bobby Hicks, Blue Highway, and the Jeanette Williams Band. When not performing with Dry Run, Gary enjoys cruising the back roads on his motorcycle.
Dale Mills- banjo
Dale Mills, a native of Mooresville, NC, began playing the banjo at the age of sixteen. Dale can keep up with the best Scruggs pickers, but has an exceptional ability to play the banjo melodically. He has played with various groups through the years, including the Stoney Creek Boys, Melody Ramblers, The New Dixie Pharaohs, and Harold Killian and the Catawba River Boys. Among his accomplishments
are numerous first place wins at area fiddler conventions, and performing at Carowinds with the country star Julie Roberts. Dale is proud to have opened for Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, the Lonesome River Band, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, and Illrd Tyme Out.
Carrie Webster- fiddle and harmony vocals
Carrie has played the violin since a young age, but has fairly recently discovered bluegrass music and fiddling. Since her first couple of fiddle tunes and vocal harmonies four years ago, she has won awards at numerous regional fiddler’s conventions, including Galax and Fiddler’s Grove. Carrie has opened for Rhonda Vincent, the Cherry-Holmes Family, and Bobby Hicks. In 2007, she was invited to play with the International Bluegrass (IBMA) winners “The Daughters of Bluegrass”. Besides playing bluegrass music, Carrie teaches violin and fiddle at the Salisbury School of Music and is building her second violin.
Eric Webster- bass
Eric provides a solid foundation for all of Dry Run’s music. He grew up surrounded by bluegrass music in the small town of Faith, NC. Eric enjoys playing all styles of music and several instruments, including the dobro. He has opened for such acts as The Cherry-Holmes Family, the Shady Grove Band, Jack Greene, 10,000 Maniacs, and the King Pup Radio Show.
