ABOUT ME:

Won an Emmy for a weekly network TV series I produced in San Francisco when I lived in Haight Ashbury in the late 60's and early 70's. Currently live in homes in Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland, and commute into DC from both homes for my professional job with the Federal Government at the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).

Was a lead vocalist with bands in Los Angeles, CA, Columbus, OH, and Baltimore, MD. My voice coach in LA was Roger Love - voice coach to Jeff Bridges on the film Crazy Heart. The three songs on this web site were recorded for a demo CD with my Columbus band. From my film industry and related band experience in LA, I learned to perform on stage with charisma and class as a singer, showman, and entertainer connecting with audiences through song, patter, and movement, which is a sorely lacking commodity with all too many MD, VA, and DC local bands. As a lead vocalist, I sing, perform & entertain audiences heart & soul w/the high-motor showmanship they want & expect of a premier band. A female lead vocalist in an elite band must be extraverted, confident, fearless, fun & have a striking & stunning stage presence in order to sing, sell & deliver any sassy & sultry girl song bands wish to play & audiences want to see & hear. I work hard at physical fitness for my bands' sake that I am attractive & appealing to our audiences as the total package of song & show to make my bands proud.
I am an instructor for hire in "Band Showmanship 101." I am available to provide instruction in Band Showmanship to bands & individuals. Bands are like three-legged stools w/1st leg instruments, 2nd vocals, and 3rd showmanship. A premier, elite, A-Band also must be a pro in Band Showmanship & there are few such bands in SO MD. I instruct in body language, body movement, hand/arm movement, posture, head movement, facial expression inc/smiling & laughing, all important eye contact, verbal communication & patter,voice inflection, personality & class, on & off stage positioning, interaction & connection w/band members & audience, etc. Bottom line - an audience wants to get to know and like you individually, and most certainly as a band where members like one another, like being there with them, and is having as much fun with them as they are with the band. Free band pre-assessment of your current state of Band Showmanship. Instruction fee varies based on size of band & # of vocalists as all are part of the show. The first thing the all-too-many plus-size female lead vocalists in SO MD must do to improve their Band Showmanship is to shape-up & lose the weight as their bands shall never become A-Bands until they becomes height/weight proportionate. A female lead vocalist in an A-Band must have a stunning stage presence, & the reality is that if she is plus-size, she severely limits her band's song list as she cannot credibly sing & sell any # of great sassy & sultry girl songs, & if she does try to sing them, the attempt does not reflect well on her band.
