We are seeking background vocalists for a Steely Dan tribute band. The band is already rehearsing. The majority of the players regularly gig around Des Moines with several connections to venues.
The purpose of the band is two-fold: 1) to serve as an outlet to play Steely Dan for the pure brilliance of their music and 2) to gig. To be clear, though, we are not looking for anyone simply interested because they want to gig and are generally familiar with Steely Dan through the radio. A deep appreciation for the depth of Steely Dan's music and a strong knowledge of the breadth of their catalog is required. We are striving for fun but also musical excellence!
For background vocalists, we are primarily seeking women with soulful voices, although we would consider male voices as well (in the vein of Michael McDonald).
