ABOUT

Starting from the 7th grade I've been in love with Bass. I first performed when I was 16 with a crowd of 150-200 people. I did this a few times for a few years, once in the summer and again in the winter. The way I did it was through a class at Beacock Music in Vancouver, WA. It was made for teens, and it grouped people together and they covered songs. I loved it, being on stage was the best thing ever. I want to continue, but I'm afraid I'm too old and perhaps too experienced to keep going to Beacock Music the way I did. So I am looking for people to play with and expand my knowledge and earn experience!

I've had experience on stage several times, but I have not performed anything other than covers. I don't have any pieces of my own, but I'm pretty good at improvising.
I like covering Red Hot Chili Peppers the most, but I of course do not claim to be as good or anywhere near as good as Flea, but I believe I will create a style of my own that will take me as far as he has gone, and further. I have a passion for this, but I am not a professional.

I cover all sorts of things, and I don't spend a lot of time on just one band, unless its RHCP. I enjoy the music of(NO ORDER, MAY OR MIGHT HAVE NOT COVERED): August Burns Red, The Amity Affliction, Of Mice and Men, Metallica, Band of Horses, The Birthday Massacre, Buckethead, Hot Action Cop, Lacuna Coil, We Rise The Tides, The Odious, Ryan Farish, Pink Floyd, Brand New, Deftones, Gary Hoey, Filter, Joe Satriani, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, HIM, Evanescence, Journey, MGMT, Steve Miller Band, and so many more including artists from the genres of Dupstep/Techno, Rap/Hip-Hop, Reggae, basically anything besides most Country... and BOTDF.

My skills/talents:
I used to play Clarinet in 5-6th grade. But that is my only experience of reading music.
-> I do not know how to read music anymore. I learn by ear, sometimes with the help of tabs. But I do have a lot of knowledge in music. Reading is just something I have not learned to do.
-> I took private lessons for about 3 years.
-> Again, experience with stage. I know what to do in live situations, I can improvise licks and basslines, and have been told many times by other musicians/instructors that I am SOLID
-> No stage fright/glued feet. I like to move around!

I am an introverted person, so I work best alone. If there is something I can't do, I will usually work at it until I can especially if it means being on stage. Have music you want me to cover? Or music of your own you need a bass riff to? Give me anything, I'll get to work.

I don't think it's about your knowledge of music or how well you can play or how fast you can strum or the crazy complex arpeggios and scales you can blast through... It's about how good it sounds as a band, you have to FEEL your music, and having a beat people can dance to or get involved in is important, too.
