Started playing music at age 6, been playing and gigging with jazz bands from age 14. Did 3-year pre-college music degree after high school music program (French system, played with University big band), before going to a totally different field.
Unfortunately had to stop 4 years ago and have been looking at opportunities to play here and there. Work doesn't allow me to commit more than once a week.
Would love to play in the Park, do a gig here or there or just join a jam session for the fun.
Experience with Big Band, small combos and soloist. Still have strong bass skills, playing mostly electric bass, but buying an upright soon to get back in shape.
Decent piano player, but haven't had a lot of opportunities to play lately, so would be good for keys in a funk band, but not strong enough for a jazz trio.
Can read charts, play classics off the fake book, do some arrangements (limited experience with brass sections though).
Believe music should be fun, make you smile, yet be complex/subtle enough to make musicians in the crowd smile even more ;)
I practice few times a week, but can't commit to more than one practice/gig a week.
Funk: Soulive, Scofield, Alan Pasqua, Tower of Power, James Jamerson
Fusion: Uzeb, Alain Caron, Jaco Pastorius, Mike Stern
Jazz: Bob Berg, Michael Brecker, Moutin Reunion
.. and many more
Keyboards, electric bass, upright. Used to own Hammond B-3 and Rhodes.
