Starting a blues-rock-soul band with emphasis on Texas-based artists such as Stevie Ray, The T-Birds, Delbert McClinton, ZZ Top, Los Lonely Boys, Charlie Musselwhite, Anson Funderburgh, etc., plus non-Texans like Seger, Clapton, Jonny Lang, Skynyrd, Robert Cray, etc. I will handle most (but not all) of the lead vocals and blues harp. Need the rest of the band -- I have a great guitar player who is happy to work with a second guitarist who can share leads as well as rhythm. Also need keys, drums and bass. Would love to have a sax player if possible. Have lots of good contacts with venues so getting gigs won't be a problem. Plan to practice once a week and gig 2-4 times a month. Guitar player and I are in our late 40s. Looking for other players who want to keep the band fun, not like having another job, but are able to consistently get together weekly to rehearse or gig. No drug users or drunks. Not trying to sell a zillion records, just want to be a consistently working and respectable Texas roadhouse rock & blues band.

Influences:

Texas blues, boogie, southern rock, everything from Bad Company and SRV to the Tower of Power horns and the Allman Bros. In short, it's gotta rock and it's gotta have soul.
