'faithchilddown' is classic, melodic, anthematic, ethereal, emotional, occasionally bluesy, rock. with lyrics that speak of life, pain, child abuse, addiction, mental illness, suicide, fear, loneliness, hopelessness, struggles with faith, and the hope and freedom that God can give. they are songs of pain, songs of hope, songs of anger, and songs of truimph. they are to reach and to relate to every person out there that thinks they are alone, and let them know they are not, that there is hope. 'faithchilddown' is a vision that has been formulating for sometime. it is more than a band, it is a vision, a belief, a destiny almost. and it will be something really amazing. my name is reis, and i have written about 60 songs, two of which i have recorded in the studio and are done. one you can here;'out of the drain' you can hear the other one 'someplace in the son' on myspace/ faithchilddown. they are just a couple examples of our sound. i say 'our' but i did everything but the drums on them in the studio. but when the final line up is complete, i will only sing, and perhaps pick up the guitar when a third guitar part is called for. we are moving towards full instrumentation: lead vocals,(hopefully 2 back up voices as well for harmonies and choruses), 2 guitarists, bass, drums, piano/keyboards. i am currently working with another guitarist and we harmonize quite well together. we are booking accoustic gigs to play out, get heard, make a couple bucks, and hopefully meet other potential band members. the music does not get much harder than the song 'out of the drain', perhaps 4 or 5 of my songs would be considered 'harder.' on the other end, there are also a lot of piano heavy pieces.'someplace in the son' is a bit softer, except at the choruses and the lead parts, but is a much bigger, more epic, ethereal, and symphonic sound. i am a big fan of the sweeping, gut wrenchingly beautiful guitar solo (not terribly phrased and horribly inaccurate noodling. less can be more. think: david gilmore or slash). dynamics, melodic quality, texture, lyricism, and attention to detail are essential elements of the songwriting. listen, if this strikes you, if this moves you, if it in the least way inspires you, then consider it. talk about it. ponder it. pray about it. flip a coin, etc. and don't be afraid to dream. if you are humble enough to be gently and humbly lead, and you want to make music for life, then contact me. if you are a liberal, but devout Christian, who believes in letting everyone who loves rock hear a powerful message rather than ramming your beliefs down someone elses throat, this could be for you. this is not praise and worship music, it is rock of the variety i listed at the beginning of this passage. you don't necessarily have to be a Christian, but this is more than just making music and you have to believe in what we are doing and be open to evolving on your own spiritual path. the right person will read this and feel 'i have got to a part of this.' the message is as important as the music. we have auditioned, played with, jammed with checked out, and listened to, so many musicians but have yet to find the right ones who have equal parts passion, committment, abilty, stytlistic compatibilty, and vision. we are basically building this from the ground up, taking the time and effort to make sure that the foundation is solid. i have put so much time and effort into essentially every facet of this that there will be no compromise on the selection of band members. recording, mixing, networking, booking, marketing, i have even had the c.d. insert (album cover, lyrics, artwork, credits and acknowledgements, and back cover) designed, and it is really awesome. there will be 4 songs on it, the 2 already done;'out of the drain' and 'someplace in the son', and the 2 that i am working on now. the quality, as you can hear, is outstanding. we have a pretty good plan for sales as well. if you have the abilty to set aside yourself for the good of a song and are willing to put the effort into each song to bring it to life perfectly, then this might be for you. if you have an ego or a drug problem, or drink excessively, this is not for you.no drugs. period. been down that road. but if you have those equal parts mentioned above and have just been waiting for the right thing to come along, please call. reis: 937-397-3379 anytime. we are not waiting, but we are waiting for you.
