SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Lead Guitar, Drums.ABOUT
I'm forming a Punk band for fun on the weekends. We'll cover the classics (Clash, Ramones, DK, etc) and contemporary (Rise Against, Against Me, Alkaline Trio) hits, write our own stuff (I have a few already) and put our own punk spin on the latest hits (eg, Me first gimme gimme). There is a market. Most punk bands only do originals and take themselves way too seriously. Most cover bands never dedicate themselves to just doing punk. With the right chemistry, this sh*t will be a hit.
I'm experienced as a Punk Frontman, Hard Rock Singer/Guitarist, Bassist/Back-up Vocalist & pan-handling acoustic bum. To me, music is all about having fun which is why I'm 100% prepared and professional when it comes to jam time. Jobs and families come first of course.
Looking for like minds.

Influences
My biggest influences are probably J Mascis for guitar & Steve Harris for bass, but I soak in everything I hear. I grew up in the 70s & 80s in a house full of music. My parents listened to classic country like Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson. My big bro played guitar and listened to the Who, Foghat, Rush, Skynyrd, Zep, Aerosmith, etc. My older sis listened to the Stones, Beatles, Elton John, Carpenters, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. My earliest faves were Kiss, Bowie, Iggy Pop, the Cars & Pretenders. Later in life, my little bro turned me on to some Street Punk & Classical stuff. More of my faves include- Hendrix, Sabbath, Ramones, Clash, Dead Kennedy's, Circle Jerks, Priest, Maiden, Slayer, Merciful Fate, Anthrax, G&R, VanHalen, AC/DC, Motorhead, Celtic Frost, the Cult, Cure, Nirvana, Jane's, Alice in Chains, Pixies, Chili Peppers, REM, Rage, Social D, Dino Jr, Archers of Loaf, Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, Afghan Whigs, Anti-flag, Against Me, Alkaline Trio, Gogol Bordello, Modest Mouse, Mastodon, Mars Volta, Rise Against, White Stripes, Dresden Dolls, NOFX, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Blues, Reggae, Gypsy Brass, Tuvan Throat Singing, etc...
