Band to Join.ABOUT
I don't have much. Not very wealthy. Just my guitars and amp. I play anything from Crazy Train solo or Eruption, to Chet Atkins or Lindsey Buckingham. I just simply love to play. There was a time when I knew just about every Metallica song on the guitar...etc. Anymore...It's not like riding a bike...you tend to forget. But it doesn't take much to brush up on it.
Chicken pickn', finger tappin', ...even some slide. I do it all. I am very humble. Never brag. And as a matter of fact, I tend to hold back for the next guy...only to make him feel humbled himself when I'm at my best.
I play some fiddle..but I am not a violinist. I only know certain songs such as Devil Went Down To Georgia, Cotton Eyed Joe, Orange Blossom Special, Mountain Music, Dixieland Delight. All i did was pick up the violin as I was inspired by my Uncle, and am self taught. I don't even know if I play the songs right. Don't ask me to "add lib" on the fiddle. I can't.
I not only consider myself a decent singer, but have been complimented throughout the years (may have been just out of sympathy too though lol ;)
I take my music very serious as I'm sure most people on this site do. I am 41 and have been on stage most my life. I've been with country bands that just stand there like a bump on a log, and have been with hard core rock bands that put on a show. I prefer the showmanship myself. Face it...we are entertainers. It doesn't stop with sound. Energy is the main thing in my opinion. A sh*tty band that puts on a great show will have followers...Gaurantee! Just as an amazing sounding group will have noone if there's no energy on stage.
In summary, I harmonize well with just about anyone...male or female. My vocal range is pretty good. I prefer Rock over Country (even though I can chickn' pick with the best). I am a very well rounded musician, very seasoned, and have traveled the state my whole life. I'm not looking for amateur level...but I don't tour. I'm looking for a group of like-minded people that I can share my thoughts and ideas with. I've been through the experiments of playing music with no leader and the "vote counts". It doesn't work. So I prefer a group that already has a "go-to-guy (woman), or a "leader."
