ABOUT

I have been playing for 30+ years. I play 4,5, 6, and 7- String Bass. Fretless, and some Upright. I have some keyboard skills, and can play many types of percussion. I have also been working on the Drums to become more well rounded rhythmically, and trying to become better at Rhythm Guitar. I consider myself a versatile player with a strong belief in serving the song. I listen to everything from Bach to Vol-Beat. So I am very open to many musical styles.
I have been in several bands over the years. One of my early gigs was playing in the Black Sabbath Tribute band "The Wizard". I later became a founding member in the band "Exit Zero". A band that covered Alternative, Classic and Modern MetaI. I also participated in a Rush Tribute Project known as "Dreamline". Where I played Bass, Keys, Pedals, and programmed and triggered sequences. I then transitioned and worked in a Sayreville based band known as "Ruff Edges" which specialized in 60's to current Rock.

One of my last projects before the Pandemic, was playing and assisting with arranging in a band, called "Equinox". A Quartet that explored styling's in Latin-Jazz-Fusion, as well as modernized interpretations of Jazz Standards (Coltrane, Miles, Shorter, etc.)

In my spare time, (which isn't much) I like to produce and record ideas in my computer-based hybrid home studio. But I am more interested in finding other people to collaborate with whose work I can help take to another level.

I received my "Professional Bass Certification" on-line at the Berklee College of Music in April of 2012 and my "Specialty Certification in Improvisation", in 2014; where I had the privilege of studying under amazing Teachers such as: Roberta Radley, Edward Tomassi, Jim Stinnett, Danny "Mo" Morris and the great Gary Burton. I also learned many Music Production skills including:

Room Acoustics
Studio Layout and Construction
Recording and Producing
Studio Mixing and Pre-Mastering.

I have gained experience in many D.A.W.s. Including:

Pro Tools
Cubase
Ableton Live
Reason Studio's Reason
PreSonus Studio One
Garage Band

I'm looking for Like-Minded Musicians to perform and work with. (In either a cover or original setting.) As well as, produce and develop a relationship with.

If interested, E-mail me at: Rivdbassman30-DOT-net and look forward to working together.
