I am a bassist/guitarist/drummer looking to start a band in the style of bands like Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, old Saves the Day(their first album), Stretch Arm Strong, etc. It is proving to be very difficult to even find anyone that has heard of bands like this, let alone wants to play music emulating their style.
I would feel most comfortable playing bass. I have been playing for 10 years and am very confident in my playing. However, I would also love to play drums or guitar in a band like this, and can play both well by my own standards, so if you're an interested bassist, please send me an e-mail. I'm not opposed to singing, however if you sing, you're probably better than me, so if you'd like to take this role I'd have no problem with it. Ideally I'd like to play covers of some of the bands listed above, and create original material, I would be open to not covering songs or strictly covering songs as well.
If you're interested in starting a band like this and sing, play guitar, bass or drums, I would love to hear from you. As I said, I'm finding it very difficult to get something like this together and have been trying to find others with similar musical tastes for a long time now. Thanks for reading.
