Experienced guitarist, back from a long hiatus, is looking to start a new cover band or join a like-minded Pop, Rock, and R&B, group. Female vocalist, musician, or front person particularly welcome! We might not be the best most progressive band, but we'll get a lot of good-paying gigs. I am currently in the process of rebuilding a new repertoire from scratch and want to make a collaborated effort with other band members at this time.

I'd like to have a band with a great deal of flexibility, focusing mostly on pop and rock music from the last five decades. Because I came of age during the late 60's early 70's, it's still my favorite period of music, and although my favorite genre is "Classic Rock," I don't want to do strictly rock music. There are just so many classic rock bands out there today, and they're very limited to the kinds of gigs they can play, mostly bars and clubs. As you probably know, bars usually don't pay well either. Nonetheless, I want to be in a band that can still rock hard enough to play bars and clubs. On the other hand, I think a band that has more pop and soft rock appeals to a wider audience, and therefore can get a wider variety gigs and better pay. Besides, there are so many pop tunes out there that I like. I'd like our band to be pop enough to play weddings and corporate events, but not have to play the Chicken Dance, Cha Cha slide, or Hokey Pokey.
I want the band to look and sound and professional. Most musicians think they're just too cool to dress-up for a gig and will show up in shorts and a T-shirt for a corporate function. A professional sound requires good equipment and attention to musical details. This means playing songs as faithfully as you can to the original recording. For me, there's nothing more boring than hearing a guitarist with the same sounding guitar no matter what kind of song he is playing. A good keyboardist or drummer should also have a variety of effects and instruments. Last but not least, great vocal harmonies are essential.
