ABOUT

You are invited to discover Louisville recording artist Godhand Black, 2014 LEO Weekly Readers' Choice Award winner (Best Hip-Hop Act), featured as a Readers' Demo Hot Pick in FutureMusic magazine and in syndicated international newspapers L'Express de Madagascar and the Liberian Daily Observer, formerly #1 on the Unsigned Hip-Hop Chart, and #1 on ReverbNation's Louisville All-Genres Chart (2013-2014). Godhand Black delivers party-oriented songs that connect with listeners and makes them feel good in the midst of a chaotic world. Formerly known as Exodus-Omega, DJ Exodus, Scratchmaster X, Black Thor, and DJ Paradigm, Godhand Black is also a regional performer with hundreds of live shows over the years, including the Kentucky State Fair, Peak Summit Festival, Portland Festival, and Insomniac-a-thon.

In 2010, he appeared on Yung Miss' track "Nod Ya Head Musick" on the hit underground mixtape 'DJ RPM Present The Showcase Vol. 169', which garnered positive reviews on music blogs worldwide. Starting 2014 with a bang, Godhand Black had 3 January song releases on 4 different mixtapes ("Keep On Pushing" ft/ Three Words appearing on 'Hood Games Vol. 4 by DJ Insane' and 'Welcome To Germany by Three Words', "Up At The Club" ft/ Dutch Diamond, Chuck Tone, and D Nice appearing on 'DJ Bankrupt Presents The End Game', and "Don't Stop Now" ft/ Big Beat appearing on 'The Indie Top 50 EDM Edition Vol. 1'). He then followed up in February with another mixtape 'My Better Half' hosted by Three Words, featuring "Rock Wichu" by Tequila ft/ Godhand Black.

His song "Keep On Pushing" ft/ Three Words, which appeared on 3 separate mixtapes, became an international underground hit, gaining airplay and press coverage in the United States, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, Netherlands, Nigeria, Austria, South Africa, Hungary, Croatia, Senegal, Ukraine, Cameroon, Latvia, Liberia, Madagascar, Gabon, Haiti, Mauritius, Chad, Jamaica, Ghana, and many other nations. A subsequent single, "Thought You Had My Back" also enjoyed acclaim, peaking at #8 on the Sound Click Hip-Hop General chart and cracking the Top 10 chart for Hip-Hop overall, in addtion to being included as the 4th song on "Def Street Mixtape August 2016". In 2017. Godhand Black earned 4 nominations at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards: 2 for Best Rap Song, 1 for Best R&B Song, & 1 for Best Rap Album.

Godhand Black was on the cover of Eminem's recent mixtape 'Rap Major' with the songs "On Lock" ft/ Marka and "Up At The Club" ft/ Dutch Diamond, D Nice, & Chuck Tone, along with another song that he remixed and mastered called "Don't" by Chuck Tone ft/ Three Words & Spyda. He followed it up with another mixtape 'Fukhandoutz We Standout Vol. 1:Hustler Edition' featuring the song "Lemme Hold Suhn" by Yung Miss ft/ Godhand Black. Godhand Black then released the song "Drinks Up" on the 'B.R.E.A.D. Media Presents Time To Eat Vol. 1' mixtape. The song caught on so well that DJ Jiggi Marley in Kingston, Jamaica created a mixtape called 'Drinks Up' that featured the title song along with 5 other previously released songs. Also a jazz composer, Godhand Black has released a single, “Fireflies In The Moonlight”, which Louisville Music News describes as reminiscent of Chick Corea.

A graduate of Full Sail University’s recording arts program, Godhand Black has worked on several films including "Secretariat", "Dead Horse", "Hope & Play", and Marty Polio's "How To Juggle And Other Cheap Tricks". He has also worked on television shows such as 'Wild Days with Bob Saget' on A&E and as road crew on concerts for Stevie Wonder, Jars of Clay, The Dramatics, the X-Ecutioners (X-Men), Sam Rivers, and Ohio Valley Wrestling. Godhand Black is nearing completion of a poetry book titled 'Poems of a Forgotten Griot' (with some works featured in publications such as Loch Norse Magazine & The Eintouist). A former radio DJ and host of WLBJ 1570am’s Saturday morning wake up show, Godhand Black’s music and memorabilia have been archived by the University of Louisville’s Music Archive and LUMA Project.
