Awaken the Hero is driven by a purpose to encourage the local Body of Christ as God's way to reach the world. Awaken the Hero emerged from the desire to activate and encourage believers to trust our great God, to act in faith, to respond as the empowered hero of the faith that God created us to be. The group is from the Kennesaw/Acworth/Woodstock area and have been together since 2001. David, Greg and Dave originally came together as the praise band for Oakwood Community Church and continue to minister at OCC. In late 2006, the group began developing it's own music, recording, and expanding it's ministry to performing at other Southeast churches, festivals, coffee houses and venues.
