About

Grant Reynolds is an American siger/songwriter/rapper/multi-instrumentalist/producer who started as the front man for the rock band NameSake/Avenge the Martyr then after two years left the band to pursue his own solo career. With a nice mix of instrumental and vocal tracks he has a unique style. When you blend Jason Mraz, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Usher, and nevershoutnever you get Grant Reynolds. He recently recorded his debut album with SlaughterMusic called "The Wishing"

"I started this process a couple years ago when I had a dream to make music," says Grant Reynolds "I got hooked up with Sean Slaughter and SlaughterMusic. He pretty much said that he saw promise and greatness in me and he offered me free studio time and that he would mix the album and that he would master it for free."

"From that point I started to write music and put a band together. I went through numerous bands and band members until I reached a point where I was like, 'Do I even want to make music anymore?' and from there I literally just sat down and cried. My grandfather, who had been the catalyst for my music and guitar playing, was dead, and I was at a loss for words. I didn't know if God was even listening to my cries."

"I then started to wish."

"I wished my grandfather was alive, I wished I would hear from God, I wished I could get the girl of my dreams, I wished I could be the real me. And from that birthed my album The Wishing."

"But I didn't stay there and wish. My dad always says, 'Wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up faster.' So I decided to spit. Not literally of course. I hooked up with Josh Collins and I started to write for the album."

"Now 1 year later I look back and I find that all of my wishing is now hope. And that is something I want to show people with this album. Don't be so uptight. Party, have fun, dance with that girl, ya know? And I hope people will join me in turning this world into a hope-filled world."
