Seasoned pocket player. Love locking in with the rhythm section and give a solid foundation, but can also play out of the box if the style needs it. From jazz through classic rock, reggae, R&B, I can lay it down.
Jazz - straight ahead to fusion. Love the progressive style with a deep groove (think ocean boat hull vs flats boat hull). I read music (charts and notes), compose a bit, have a good ear, and can contribute BGVs. Have played and enjoyed playing in big bands, combos, recording, and producing. Looking to form or join a band that has jazz/fusion/R&B roots. A steady Sunday night gig would be sweet - a 'guys night out'. Somewhere between 2 - 4 gigs per month (give or take), preferably festivals and special occasions would be in a sweet spot.
Locally, I've played at the Straz, the Mahaffey Theater, Tropicana field, Coachman Park, Pour Yours, many other event centers on bass and guitar, depending on the need. Longstanding jazz gig at the Vines Bar & Grill in Orlando; church- and restaurant friendly.
