Ok... Here's the deal. I am a long term pro player w/ many label credits. I have been based in Los Angeles, Ca. since 1986. I travel quite a bit as a WORKING sideman, session player, and recording engineer. I also work as an executive in the IT business... just like Andy West (of the Dixie Dregs.)

I have been involved in the music industry in one way or another most of my life. I come from a musical family. My father was a well known big band musician and arranger. I was schooled at Berklee. I have been in cover bands and struggled like everyone else. I have also been lucky enough to be involved with (or work for)some major label acts. I have been through the ups and downs (can you say meat grinder) of the 'real deal' music business for 20+ years. I am 'old as dirt' at my advanced age of 42 ... according to the dorks who ruined (I mean run) the music industry.

I am currently involved in a project here & there, but I'm always willing to lend a hand to a worthwhile project. I am primarily a bassist, but I also sing, play guitar and keys. I am a mastering engineer as well.

The style of my solo project is what I'd describe as 'Storyteller Americana'. Lyrical content is important to me, because I've got some things I want to say and the ability to do it well. I'm not 'Mr. Melodramatic'. I like to have fun with the stories I tell, but there is a point to them. Musically I could reference stuff by a whole cross-section of artists, but I know how to make it cohesive. Just think of Springsteen's Born to run meets Pete Townsend and Billy Gibbons at a Blues bar in Texas. Throw in some Queen, Elton John, U2 and good old Prog rock for good measure, and you're starting to get there. I do like the whole concept album philosphy of Pete Townsend very much. I'm a big fan of the WHO.

FWIW - I'm certainly not famous, nor am I deluded into thinking I am. That said, I have worked with (and for) some well known artists. Some of them are actually good friends, but I am not someone who you've likely heard of.

The ideal players I tend to chose to work with are mature people, and seasoned performers.

Influences:

Turn ons - Led Zeppelin, The Who, ArcAngels, Black Crowes, Guns & Roses, SRV, John Lee Hooker, Beth Hart, Charlie Sexton, Bruce Springsteen, Muse, Depeche Mode (ok...ok... just go with it), Dave Stewart, Devin Townsend Band, Porcupine Tree, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, Daniel Lanois, Big & Rich, Montgomery Gentry ... Strats, Taurus Pedals, Thunderbird basses, cowboy hats, Indian motorcycles and Jack Daniels, baby!!!

Turn offs - Re-hashed disco crap, Whiny Emo bands, Cookie monster vocals, posers who think they're 'hipsters', shaved apes in suits who want to pigeonhole music, whiny college chicks in Cat's Eye glasses, the MP3 sound format, iTunes, musician goofballs who think they 'know' the business without any real experience, every swingin' dick with an Epiphone/Squire/First Act & six weeks of lessons who thinks he can turn pro tomorrow after recess...
