About
After a 5 year break from playing in a band....I'm finally getting back into the mix and am excited about the idea of starting a new project. I'm married with 2 young kids now (hence the 5 year break) and let's just say.... I'm not 20 anymore. The dreams of becoming a Rock n' Roll superstar are long gone and now my family comes first. I've got a good job, so for $100 a night it's not about the money. I would just like to find a casual, fun, project playing in a band with people that I enjoy hanging out with and playing music that doesn't turn my stomach.
I've been playing in bands since the 5th grade. Mostly Modern Rock / Pop / Bar Music. I have a Pro Tools set up at home and occassionaly work on original stuff when inspired. Love to jam. Love to play out. Always looking for cool, new people to write, record, and jam with. I dabble on the bass and keys, but basically I'm a guitarist and a drummer with competent vocal ability. I can't sing the phone book, and have no interest in trying to front a band all by myself, but would love to be in a solid group where I could sing a few songs, and provide occasional harmonies and backing vocals.
I don't consider myself a "LEAD guitarist".....or a rythmn guitarist for that matter....just a guy who plays guitar. In several of the previous bands that I was in, I was the only guitar player (trios or 4 piece with keys). I can learn and play solos, but I'm certainly no "shredder". I believe that it should ALWAYS be more about complementing the song than showing off.
The "80's vocal demos" mix was recorded using karaoke backing tracks. Everything on the last two songs ("Rock Covers" and "Krytopnite") was played by me, and was recorded in my basement using Pro Tools.
I'd also really like to link up with a vocalist / lyricist to try and collaborate on finishing some originals.
