SEEKING
Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard, Piano.ABOUT
**Just so you all know, I'm looking for musicians between the ages of 21-30. If you're 45... well... don't take it personally. Exceptions: I'll go younger if your behavior and playing level are mature, and older if your look and music seem younger.
"But Travis, you're 31." True... and I'm an exception. ;-)
When it comes to musical collaboration, I think personality is the most important factor, then skill levels, and after that comes musical style. So many musicians have that backward. After all, "style" is really just the surface of music.
With that said, a bit about myself...
Me:
I'm a music nerd. An introverted, reclusive musical alchemist. I study Chopin and music theory for fun. I aspire to musical greatness, but can take or leave "fame." I play guitar at an advanced level, and have played in bands and jazz combos. Sometimes I write music that is intentionally difficult just to stretch myself. I see myself destined to be perhaps the primary musical mind of a band, but seldom taking the credit. I want to meld my ideas with other's, thereby increasing our collective creative yield.
So, yeah... in short, I'm kinda serious about the music. Can you tell?
As for band commitment level, I'll tour for the right band, but that's like saying for the right girl I'll get married. Just as there is a courtship process for romance, there is a process for band formation. It starts with casual collaboration. If that sounds good to you, contact me.

Influences
I don't normally tell people about my musical influences, as I find them inconsequential. But since it's asked... I love Prog. My writing style is... heck, I don't know what my writing influences are. Probably early prog rock... Genesis, ELP and King Krimson. Add in some Kings X, Satriani, Radiohead, Muse. Sprinkle in a dash of salt with some cheesy Sci-Fi sound tracks, and presto, you have me.
My playing style is influenced the articulation of Satriani in his slower ballads.

This song is actually two songs. It COMPLETELY changes at about 1:40, so give it time. Part two is intended for vocals. These songs are why I need a SERIOUSLY kick ass drummer. :-)
