Bass Guitar, Drums.
About
Blues guitarist/songwriter/vocalist. Have a new blues group. We have vocals/harmonica, keyboard/vocals, and myself. We need a solid bassist and drummer with some jazz and soul influences, and a willingness to throw in with a start-up blues group, rehearse on weekends, and focus on original material as well as non-beaten-to-death blues covers. We aim to be gigging as soon as possible.
Please let's make no mistake:This will NOT be just another "blues-rock"/"bloozerock" boogie-brained boring band. If you're thinking about doing something that you really intend to move more toward rock, we're not the band with whom you want to play.
But if you think the blues can groove, swing, and tell a story without a big loud racket; if you think the singer and the soloist(s) should be allowed to tell their stories without having to force their way through the racket; if you think there's a vast blues repertoire beyond the beaten-to-death warhorses, especially one that's yet to be written; then, we're sure we'll be the band with whom you'd want to play and/or band up.
Influences
My personal influences include B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Albert King, Mike Bloomfield, Otis Rush, Fenton Robinson, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, Lonesome Sundown, Robert Pete Williams, Magic Sam, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, and the jazzmen who didn't forget the blues (Miles Davis, Jimmy Smith, Kenny Burrell, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Milt Jackson) . . .
Equipment List
My own equipment: Gibson Les Paul guitars; Fender Twin Reverb amplifier; Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier; Boss FV-50H volume pedal; Boss GE-7 equaliser pedal; Harbinger P.A. system with two microphones.
