1949 vintage drummer, some patina due to age (grin) cleans up like new. So here is the deal. I’ve been playing since 15, off and on. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in 1978. Got burned out on the business about 12 years ago and stopped playing. Picked up the sticks a year ago and have put in about 2 to 3 hours a day since. I want to play again but will only consider playing quality music. I can do the funk, latin and jazz standards or can layback with brushes or blast sticks. I listen to everything from Sting to Gospel Music to Tom Waits. I have a couple of marching drums and can get excited about playing with a tuba player or an accordion player. I honestly don’t care as long as the music is great and we enjoy what we play. Currently I have Lyle Lovett, John Abercrombie, Rich Mullins,Jaco Pastorius Tower of Power, Joanna Newsome, and Tito Puente on rotation in my truck. What i most desire is to support your music, make your songs sound good.
(Audio on this page are just examples of what has influenced me)
Currently playing once a week with a Latin Big Band. Opportunity to read charts and keep the chops up.
David Garibaldi, Steve Jordan, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, Tony Williams, Bernard Purdie, Zigaboo, Clyde Stubblefield to name a few. Great attitude, no annoying habits and very reliable. Can play with click. I have great friends because I get along well with people. No drama, no drugs, no attitude. Left that all behind. Life is too short to annoy people.
Yamaha, Gretsch, Pearl, Sabian and Electro Lux and a marching snare drums just in case of a parade comes by and I want to get be part of it.
