ABOUT

My name is Jacob Wayne. Im 38 yrs old and been playing guitar nearly half my life. I was raised listening to country music so thats the style I learned to play and have pretty much stuck to that style although I do enjoy playing texas country and some southern rock. I learned to play Steel guitar n college ,which is probly why i didnt do so well in college. Way too many bars to play at in College Station tx to be studying biology! I played steel guitar on the rd with a local band for a while circuiting beaumont, lake charles LA. Elk city OK. and new mexico. It was cool to open shows for artists such as Tracy Byrd, Neil McCoy and Doug Supernaw. I moved to Nashville for a while, that was Pretty cool too. Just when you think you're getting good go pick guitars with some of those guys! Anyway its getting hard to find musicians who take it seriously anymore to Im looking for some guys who are mostly established already and looking for a lead guitar. Im BOARD around here.

Influences

My influences are probly about the same as any other country picker out there ranging from Mearle Haggard and Don Rich to Albert Lee, Steve Wariner, Vince Gill, Brent Mason and recently Brad Paisley. I like trying to learn his licks because his hybrid style of pickin is a challenge. nothing wrong with a challenge.

EQUIPMENT

I have 3 Fender Telecasters, one which is a frankenstein that im building, one is a 68' reissue flower power tele and my 60th anniversary model tele with natural wood grain finish. I sent this one to Charlie McVay in Penn. who does all of paisleys guitar work. I got him to install a G-bender for me which gives me some pretty cool sounds. I play through a Fender Blues Delux until i can buy my DR.Z and all my effects are from Boss. nothing fancy but it works for me.
