My name is Jacob, and I'm currently a senior in HS. I am primarily a mandolin/guitar player. My musical exploits usually follow the lines of Celtic Traditional (Guitar, Mando, Whistle) and Rock/Metal (Lead and Rhythm). Although I have had little experience setting up gigs, I am a competent player of many genres.

Influences
In rock/metal, my primary influences are NWOBHM bands (palm muting, power chords, fast pentatonic/minor harmonic leads, and heavy midrange, British distortion) and early 70s hard/heavy rock (Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc.) However, Jethro Tull has also been of great influence.
In terms of Celtic, my style is most inspired by The Bothy Band, The Chieftains, De Danann, Planxty, Mat Malloy, Andy Irving, and Solas. The traditional Scottish group, The Tannahill Weavers, has also been a source of inspiration. However, with traditional music, my inspiration stems more from the tunes themselves than from the players.
EQUIPMENT
Mandola, Mandolin(s), Delrin and Clarke Whistles, a Baby Taylor, a very nice Schecter Guitar, a nice 100 Watt Fender modeling amp, and a Peavy Vypyr.
