The American Idle (formerly American Dream) is kinda set - but we're always on the lookout for others interested in collaboration, adding depth, or simply being available as a back-up so if one band mate gets infectious pabarsley. It's nice to have optional players so we're not turning away fun gigs (see below), plus different players always bring different tunes to broaden the musical horizon.
FUN GIGS are defined as: great tunes we enjoy – done our way – having the crowd enjoy them as proved by dancing – getting paid string and gas money – and most importantly: being rehired. So far we have a pretty good track record.
1) Quiet enough the audience can still talk to one another at their tables.
2) Pleasing on the ears. Full. Balanced. In tune.
3) With a beat solid to get the audience's feet tapping.
4) Songs in which the Band is personally interested ... because quality is contagious.
5) Material most at least vaguely familiar ... ideally well enough to the have audience sing along.

P.S.: I am usually happy to come by and jam with decent players. It's always good to meet new musicians, and you never know where things will take you (or us) - which at my age will be nowhere but Local Funland - but maybe that works for you too.
