In February of 2005 I sold out of a lucrative printing business that I helped build over the course of seven years. I felt it was time to take on a quest, that quest being developing my craft as a drummer. It has been four years and I am still on this quest. My journey has taken me to many places. For a year I toured with a rock band all over the east coast. Together we basically lived in a van in between bar gigs, wild frat parties and recording sessions. When our time together came to an end my path towards musical fulfillment and growth continued, and with a little help from the universe I have been able to press forward with little opposition. In July of 2006 I auditioned for a cruise line, got the gig and found myself the show band drummer for one of the largest companies in the industry. For the next five months music and my passion for it took me to Alaska, British Columbia, The Mexican Riviera, and Hawaii. Internally I was changing me from the guy who “plays in a band” into a full-blown professional. In this much more demanding environment I have been forced to learn, dive deeper into my craft, and accept humility for growth as a musician and person. A quest is a journey of personal growth and insight. When I started my quest in 2005 I was just realizing that once you embark on the journey of chasing a dream you would often find yourself on unfamiliar ground, and only those who choose to continue forward could ever succeed. I have chosen to move forward at all costs. My new profession has challenged me and forced me to hike some difficult terrain. Today I am working harder than ever seeking to better myself so I can continue this path towards my dream. Visit www.jeremylarochelle.com for more information.
