ABOUT

I sing, I write my own lyrics and melodies and my husband fills out the rest of the instrumentation. I only sang in the shower up until I was 27 years old. I wrote a love song for a boy and the next thing you know, I was in a band! haha...My husband/guitarist relocated us to Palm Desert, Ca. in June and I had a baby in July so I have been busy learning how to be a mom and acclimating to our new surroundings. I love music, I love to sing! Up to this point my husband and I have been writing , recording, and playing our original music together for the past 7 years. I am interested in finding other musicians or opportunities that can expand my musical experience and challenge me to be a better artist.

Influences

With my generation having free and easy access to music through a variety of multi-media channels, I can honestly say that my influence is, well, everything! Right now, some artists I am into are The Cardigans, Bittersweet, Lovage, Thievery Corp , Sia, Sophie Barker, Amy Winehouse , Skye Edwards from Morcheeba, Blondfire, Over the Rhine, I've always loved Tori Amos, Sarah Mclaughlin, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Karen Carpenter, Bjork, Fiona Apple (Tidal only), Stevie Nicks.... I could go on and on... My parents were young and I grew up listening to whatever was on the top 40 pop charts of the 80's. Madonna, Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul, Taylor Dane.. When I was eleven I discovered country music by flipping through the stations and being bored with everything else. I fell in love with early 90s country music. As I became a teen I went through a wide spectrum of Rock, Punk, Country, hip-hop, rap... By the time I was out of high school we had the internet and into my early adult years I found a wide variety of genre and artist that I grew to love. As an adult, my influence has grown exponentially. My husband is 16 years my senior and a musician as well, has shared a wealth of knowledge by sharing his influences and the music of his generation. We love music history, and watch a lot of documentaries and be videos... haha! ;)
