Band to Join, Lead Guitar, Violin, Keyboard, Piano, Banjo, Fiddle, Vocalist - Alto, Accordion, Ukulele.ABOUT
Main instruments are elec bass, tuba, fingerstyle guitar and various Latin percussion. Bongos, guierro, clave, maracas, etc. Im very much an ear and feel player and a minimalist. I prefer jazz charts to reading notes.
Last year i visited Havana Cuba, and my whole musical orientation changed! Now i'm crazy about latin music! Especially Son Cubano and Salsa, which i've been getting my musical brain around...
I have been one of the regular bass players for years at the Monday night Jam at Capitol Cider. Also lots of percussion there. I learned bass in a black gospel church choir back in the '80's.
I really like "music of the people" And not about hatred. Music that uplifts people....Motown, blues, Country, Mexican, (tuba) Latin, standards, whatever. I took up tuba a few years back and now play that lots. But electric bass would be my main gig.
On tuba, it would be fun to find a girl who plays Ukulele or accordion and sings, preferably while hoola-hooping!

I was in Havana last year, and I heard this band. (Los 5 del Son). The music there just blew my mind. Now i'm crazy to play more latin music! The bass in salsa and Son Cubano is very different than regular pop. It took me a while to start to hear it.
