About
The Band was formed last year. We've got a pile of originals and many unique and tasty retreads. What we need now, is a drummer in the pocket, maybe even you! You need to be ready to roll and have the experience to jump in on the fly... gigs are booked.. recording session are planned..... practice space with drums and PA is waiting... this is great opportunity to get in with band that is making it happen. We are all 50+ with decades of experience and a passion for what we are doing... bring your passion and experience to a project that will make you smile and glad you played!
****
I've sung since my late 20's... I was always into theater.. and finally took on a major role as Danny in Grease, where I found my falsetto.... I've also carried one of five roles in the Fats Waller tribute Ain't Misbehavin.. so I guess what I am saying in that I have the stage presence and chops to carry off the lead position in a band. I have fronted many projects, including some live television and charity events. I have the gift of being comfortable in front of groups, and especially when I am confident of what is about to happen.
A band is a team... please read this article.... we should all strive to have this mindset...

Influences
So many influences... but then I suppose that is what we all say.
My first album was Grand Funk Phoenix, at which point I fell in love with Mark Farnum and the B3 organ. the late 70's saw me learning about Little Feat, Wet Willie, Elvin Bishop, The Bosses... In Houston I learned more about the blues, and even saw the entire Blue Brothers ensemble.
I love a wide range of music, from Big Band to bluegrass and most all R&R. I am not a heavy metal fan or performer, although I did go through that phase with the Paranoid album. When I sing I choose a wide variety, but I always feel best in the bluesy stuff... Clapton is of course an influence, but also everything that came before him, hell he isn't that much older than me... lol
When off on my own I might sing Beyond the Sea or some other crooner classic, or maybe some Gordon Lightfoot, or some Joe Turner .... I've also taken my originals around the coffee house/open mic loop.... a great way to try stuff out... having backing track, will sing!
Equipment List
I use an AKG C535EB Stage mic (and a backup SM58) and a ADK A-6 studio mic, run through an Alesis MultiMix8, and then into the PC or most likely into the Fostex MR-8 deck. I just picked up a Behringer B205 stand mounted monitor, that is a real pleasure to sing with. I also own a Korg mircoSTATION, but I am no keyboardist. I added a BOSS VA20 recently for a few effects.
