ABOUT

Female vocalist is looking for like-minded mature and responsible adult male musicians with vocal ability to form a versatile 50-year retrospective music performance team to work the Hampton Roads - Tidewater Community. Cover/tribute, classic and soft rock, current top 40 with some added funk, Motown, Pop and possibly older classics. Clean family friendly music that brings back good memories and gets people up, movin', groovin', dancing and singing along.
*** I'm out and about listening and watching many bands, frequently. Sadly, too many bands play to a transient or near empty audience. There are a few local bands that I follow who, no matter where they play, CONSISTENTLY PACK THE HOUSE or OUTDOOR ARENA they're playing at. These bands are steadily booked for local events and holiday venues, and command high dollar fees ($3,500+) for private events. Why? 1.They conduct themselves professionally; 2.They're versatile musically, vocally and instrumentally; 3.They connect with their audience; 4.They play music that is relevant to their audience, and not merely themselves. These bands have compiled song lists with a wide range of music that reaches both grandparent and grandchild (and everyone in between); Tunes that bring back memories, and move their audiences, creating a loyal following for themselves. Their fans travel long distances to see them play. I know because I myself am a fan. Over time, they have JELLED TO THE PERFECTION OF WHO THEY ARE AS MUSICAL ENTITIES. This is what I'd like evolve into as a music team. A mix of people willing to work hard to uniquely become themselves as a group; having lots of fun doing what they love to do, while earning some money. No egos. No tempers. No BS! Just mature adults working hard to put out good music. I'd love to chat with you and hear your ideas, too! I'm no longer a premium member, so contact me at garden.of.eatincox

Motown, Funk, Beatles, Stones, British Invasion, Martha and the Vandellas, Sly and the Family Stone, The Rascals, Junior Walker & The All Stars, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Tommy James & the Shondells, Booker T & the MG's, Frampton, Clapton, Traffic/Stevie Winwood, Moody Blues, Yes, Linda Ronstadt, The Fabulous Thunderbirds/Stevie Ray Vaughan, America, Jackson Brown, The Eagles, Wham!, CSN&Y, Doobie Brothers/ Michael McDonald, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, John Cougar Mellencamp, Toto, Journey, Tears for Fears, current music and numerous contemporary Christian artists. Members Of Band

Me: I sing Mezzo Soprano. Vocalists often mistakenly say that they are altos. Alto is actually a part listed in choral music, not a voice type.

I'm willing to practice 2 - 3 times a weeks for several hours.

EQUIPMENT

2 Lanikai LU 21C Ukuleles, 1 Fender Stratocaster, Washburn acoustic guitar, 2 dulcimers, 1 Bodhran, various drums. I am not a musician, but I can and I'm willing learn acoustic guitar/ukulele parts, and other aforementioned instrumental or percussion parts for effect.
