Hi, I'm Jode (the Mode)! I have been playing guitar for 15 years or so. I enjoy experimenting with sounds and genres and look up to many musicians (even ones that don't relate to guitar). Even though I have been playing a long time I'm not much of a hair metal "shredder", I try but I stink :) I love the sound of shredding and love laying down some rhythm for someone to shred to.
I am looking into starting either a Celt/Punk/Ska (or combined) band. Why? It's my roots, and I enjoy it. I do not wish to extol an obscene lifestyle or be a bad influence, so THAT style of punk is not what I am looking for. Jog on mate :) If you like to be a positive influence then that is what I am looking for. I also enjoy many alt/indie styles including post-rock.
My musical resume isn't huge, but it has it's high points: I used to play in a band which is now pretty famous in the UK (Faintest Idea). A couple of THEIR vids are on my profile (I'm not in either of them, nor do I take any credit for their work). Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a part of the band when they got successful. Just before they took off I was evolving and growing more than ever (I was a teen at the time). They specialized in raw punk at first, but later evolved to Ska-Punk (after I left) due to some members influences (which is cool because I like ska too).
Since then I have played in a ministry position with different churches as a guitar player, and occassionally as a bassist or drummer --> (if someone was desperate!). I played 3 years as a rhythm guitarist in the UK and another 3 years out west. The last 2 years I have been playing as the Worship leader at Lifeblood Baptist church in Panama City which has allowed me to adapt as a rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, and SINGER! Sing? That is really new to me and I am learning all the time. Everyone says I sound good, but I'm self conscious about it. All the other years I have just been a bedroom jammer (and thats the best place to learn!).
