Former pro drummer available for the right gig in this area.
Looking for GREAT songwriters and performers. Maybe an established act? I have toured extensively, played on big stages in front of huge crowds, had record and publishing deals, etc etc etc. In a perfect world, I can find guys that have the same experience level. I do NOT want to play with guys who have only ever played covers. Sorry, personal preference. I am looking to play with guys that have their own history and discography as I do. I have some good connections around here and gigs will be easy to get when we are ready. I have a family and a business so I'm looking for rehearsals once a week, maybe twice in the beginning. If you are pro level, then the process should not take much more practice than that. Or if you already have songs, and /or a band then I can step in seamlessly.
Musical flavor is huge for me as I am a song creator/arranger also, so I hope you are open to the creative process and can put your ego aside when changes need to be made. I KNOW that the songs are more important than the people writing them, and when you put your ego aside, the best songs get written.
I would love to do something along the lines of Drive By Truckers, Jason Isbell, Son Volt, Neil Young-ish, Black Crowes-ish but am open to lots of different things as long as the writing is excellent. Not looking for any derivitive BS. Want songs with soul and emotion and want to play with guys that have both of those qualities.
If you like Taylor Hawkins, Steve Gorman, John Bonham, and Phil Rudd, then you will have a good idea about what I sound like. I have pro gear and a pro attitude. Ready to rock.
